ANNOUNCEMENT OF THE 2016 ANNUAL MEETING OF THE MEMBERS OF THE ASSOCIATION

In accordance with the bylaws of the American Birding Association, the Board of Directors has set the date for the next Annual Meeting of the Members of the Association for Friday, October 28, 2016. The official Notice of the Meeting and the Proxy will be distributed to members on or after August 29, 2016, but no later than October 18, 2016. The Notice will contain the time and location and other information about the Annual Members’ Meeting.

This year’s Annual Meeting of the Members will be held in Delaware. Plans for the meeting are being developed and will be posted as they become available on our Events Page (http://events.aba.org/). We are pleased to announce that the program will include a presentation by Neil Hayward, ABA Big Year Champion and author of the forthcoming Lost Among the Birds.

Late October is a great time birding in the mid-Atlantic region. There are numerous hot-spots, such as Bombay Hook, close to the ABA’s historic headquarters. There are also a number of birding and conservation events taking place in the vicinity, including the Cape May Fall Festival (www.birdcapemay.org) and Wings of Over Water on the Outer Banks of North Carolina (www.wingsoverwater.org), where ABA Board member, Kenn Kaufman will be the keynote speaker. We hope that many of you will take advantage of these opportunities and come to the Annual Meeting.
